I can't bear to share half-installed pictures, so, sorry, you'll have to wait until the whole sha-bang is done. That post, I promise, will be much more upbeat than this one.

Sneak Peek -
Don't get too excited. I just wanted to check in and tell you that, yes, we do have our cabinets. And I love them. They are so pretty. Clay has been here today putting them up and getting things done. There unfortunately has been several problems that I will not go into length about - mainly because I'm upset and stressed and if I get it all going again it ain't gonna be pretty-- but also because I'm sure you all are getting sick of hearing about the cabinet saga... in short, there were several mistakes in the sizes of the cabinets. The cabinets themselves are gorgeous, just too big. They don't fit exactly as they should. With some of them, they will be remade by the cabinet-maker, with others, we are playing musical cabinets. We are in process of making the necessary changes which included a partial wall-knocking-out (not the technical term) but believe it or not, it's all going to be o.k. I'm saying that over and over until I believe it. There are lots of details that I could share here, but the point is, I am happy with my cabinets and when they all are the right size, in the right place with counter-top and hardware on them, I'll be a happy girl. Until then -- I'm blogging and letting out a little stress. Amy says that the crease on my forehead speaks volumes... instead of a picture of my wrinkled-creased-stressed-out forehead, here is what it all looked like pre-installation.

Your cabinets look beautiful---the color, that is---they take up way too much room in the dining room though!!! Looks like lots of great storage space is on its way to your kitchen. Just keep saying, "This too shall pass" and in the meantime, aren't you writing your own novel on all that can happen in a home re-model. I know it will all work out, and just think of it as God's way of letting your kitchen take a shape that none of you had imagined. He knew the end from the beginning, and I am sure it will be even more spectacular than you had first planned.
As for those stress-wrinkles, soon they will turn into smile-lines. I love you, and thanks for the suspense of the finished product, it is almost like you are saying, "keep reading to see the end of this story." I like that! Enjoy today. I love you. Mom
You will love them Tammy. Just think of the delay and problems and a design dilemma. When this is all over with you will be able to keep up with the best of them! Who knows you may like it better when it’s all done with! I can’t wait to see the finished product!!!
