Remember the old hymn, "Count your blessings, name them one by one?"
I need to be more thankful for the little things. One of the ladies at bible study today was talking about how she loves *hot* water and is so thankful to have it because Oprah says that 80% of the world doesn't have hot water. She was passionate, yes passionate, about how much she loved her hot baths, and having hot water. While I was tickled at her animation about it, I realized, ***ME, TOO!*** I'm thankful for hot water! And for lots of other little things that I take for granted everyday. On the "thankful" list is always my family, friends, church, ya know the big parts of my life. But the little things that make my life more comfortable I take for granted constantly. Here's a quick list, just to get me started.

- morning coffee, made by my sweet husband
- that my almost 12 year old wants to be "tucked" in at night
- ice cream, it makes me so happy!
- talking to my mom on the phone
- that my kids *love* to go to school
- medicine that actually takes away headaches
I could go on and on. I spend too much time on what I don't have and not enough on all that I am blessed with. I want to not take life for granted but savor it. The way Kate's hair smells after her bath, riding in the car to church together, reading the paper and drinking coffee. Blessings that need to be counted. Good things in my life.
Are you taking life's little blessings for granted? What little things make your life full? Name them one by one.

Yes, it's true--the "little things" are really the "big" things! We are so blessed, and one of those blessings is recognizing how blessed we are. Thank you for the reminder to "count our blessings" for we surely have endless numbers--you, my dear daughter bless me each day by just being you! I thank God for all our blessings, and the awareness of their magnitude. Love, Mom
Tammy,
Thanks for reminding me that I have countless things to be thankful for. I needed that today as I face going home to my shambles of a house. You and your family are one of the greatest blessings in my life and I thank God everyday for all of you. Aunt Linda
