Determination

Jon Carter ran his first cross country race last week. The K-3rd grade boys ran the 1000m. He didn't seem a bit nervous. He had a plan. Start out in the middle of the pack. Then take on each guy ahead of you, surge then jog....until the end when you sprint to the finish.
He did awesome! You could see his mind going through the plan. His little legs just running, and running, and running. The end was hard. I could tell he was really pushing himself to go faster than he thought he could. He gave it all he had. Let me tell you, that boy has a lot to give.
He ended up finishing 12th out of 30. So proud of my boy. His first race ever. He showed so much courage, determination, and strength. I had a glimpse of the man he will one day be. Brave, Strong and Focused. (an awful lot like his daddy!)

I am so proud of Jonathan--but not surprised by his many accomplishments, just look at his parents! He will go far in life and succeed at whatever he sets his mind to---I can hardly believe he will be 8 soon! Keep the posts coming, Tammy. I look forward to seeing what is new in your corner of the world.
Love, Mom
