Have I seriously not posted since July??? Oops.

We made a quick but super fun trip to visit some dear friends for the weekend. There was lots of playing, eating frozen custard -- 3 times in one weekend--- talking and catching up, lots of laughing and a teeny bit of crying, mainly me when it was time to come home.

It's just one of those friendships where miles and time have no effect. Somehow, 15 yrs. ago, in between trips to the laundry mat, teaching pre-k, and watching endless hours of 90210, a friendship was born and has grown and with all my heart, I love this girl. I love that our relationship isn't complicated, it's simple and honest. I love how we accept each other, and learn from each other...how by just by being herself, I am encouraged and challenged to be a better mom and wife and friend. That we have these husbands that like to be together and are soooo funny...and that they let us be "us" for the short time we get together. And now we have all these children running around, playing ponies, dressing up and learning to love each other because we do.

<<<--- our backseat ... beautiful girls with their new Build-A-Bear friends.
<<-- I had the fresh peach concrete. Summer perfection. After Jacki and I took the little girls back home, we found our Matt and Jeff took the older ones back for seconds later that night after their movie. Definitely not a typical weekend.

<<-late night fun. Well, we thought it was fun.

<< just one of my many favorites of sweet Maddy.

Oh, what a great post! And the pictures turned out so good! I'm kicking myself for not checking your blog yesterday. Oh well. It WAS a great weekend for sure. We love you all so much and just treasure our time together. It was really one of the highlights of our summer. Thanks for coming and making it so fun. I think I'd be in the running for "the most tears shed". I cried just a little as you left. Love you and already miss you! Jacki

So glad to share in your wonderful weekend with such dear-over-the-years friends. It is beautiful when girls can just get together and it is as if no time has passed, and you resume the good-together-times you remembered.
The photos are precious, and I know they will be priceless to your children over the years. Glad Matt and Jeff are so understanding of their wonderful wives, and added to your fun times.
Thank you for taking us with you through your posting. Love you lots!
