Life is a Party, just waiting to be Planned

Life's a Party for this girl. Ever since her birthday, party planning is one of her favorite "pretend" activities. She decides who the party is for (usually whoever isn't home at the time) and then wraps up "gifts" and decorates the house with beautiful decorations like these ---
(sorry not the best photo)

The other day, I came home to my lotion wrapped up so pretty and these ribbons taped on the walls all over the house. Isn't that so sweet?
Wouldn't the world be a happier place if we all just planned happy parties for each other all the time??

On to real life:

Right about now, I'm feeling like this guy ... (yep, that's Stretch Armstong)

Stretched. Pulled in different directions. At times, pretty drained. I know it comes with the "mom-of-3" territory and my tendency to over-commit. I'm working on balancing and spinning all the plates. And I'm learning that sometimes you just have to let a few fall. And I'm learning about the virtue of patience. That will have to be another post.
I've always been the kind of person that likes background noise, just to have something on...but lately, when it gets quiet, rare-but when it does, I can feel myself just soak it in. Like my body is thristy for peace and stillness.

*Jon Carter is much better. He's healing up and gearing up for the first baseball game of the season on Saturday. I'm excited to take my camera and give it a work out. I've spent quite a bit of time reading my manual and fiddling around with it, but this will be great practice.

I'll try to not let it be another week before a new post! Sorry!!

So glad to hear Jonathan is healing up! Maybe it's just in time for all the games to begin! Kate and Maddy would have a good ole time playing party together. We have way too many leftover party supplies here -- that get put to good use quite often so I guess it's worth it. I think most of us crave quiet and stillness sometimes. I saw a saying one time about how God might feel like pulling us over for speeding. I think it's true. I love reading Psalm 23 (the Message) -- have you ever read it?
Hope to talk to you soon. Love, Jacki

What a cute picture of Katie Rose. Yes, we could all use a huge dose of Katie Rose's life . . . planning sweet parties and having fun. Life can be grand when you are four years old!!! Too bad all the stress, etc. has to enter in as we get older. We all just have to hang, huh? Love to you all. Aunt Linda

If it's any consolation, you wear your "hats" well!!! It sounds like there is a party at your house, anytime we want to come, for Katie has it all planned out. Love the picture of her wall decorations--she is such a sweetheart. I am glad Jonathan is all better and ready for baseball---I love to watch him play.
Look forward to spending time with Hannah soon and recalling any sewing skills I once had. You are surrounded by so much love and energy for your children that it is understanding that you feel you can't soak it all in. Try to take a few minutes for yourself each day, but I am not sure "where"??? in your schedule, just pencil it in as "important re-fueling and calming meeting"--then let the Lord meet your needs.
I love you all so very much.
