One of my favorite things about snow days is the great pictures you get. Some of my favorite of me and my brother when we were little are of us playing outside in the snow. And they are some of my favorite of my kids, too. I have several folders full of pictures from each time we get a big snow. Funny, the pictures aren't really too different from one time to the next, but the opportunity, the light, the fun is too hard to resist. I love their red noses, the look in their eyes that only little children get when the snow falls. By the time you are grown, while it's pretty, it can be a pain and a mess to deal with. So, I'm treasuring their expressions and hoping to capture those sweet memories for them.
--we even made snow ice cream...and yes, I know it's not the 'cleanest' thing in the world when you live in the city but we got the pure white stuff and ya know, you only live once ----
I had a hard time choosing, but here are a few of my favorites: (by the way, we ended up with around 7")
<<--classic case of "she can dish it out but she can't take it"... she loved throwing at him, but hated getting hit. Toughen up toots.
a small disclaimer: some of these were taken through the window, because it was early, I was in my jammies and I'm a wimp.

What precious pictures! Those kids didn't even notice it was 25 degrees out there, did they? Yes it seems like only a couple days ago and it was you and your brother playing in the snow. Glad you got the photos and I know they will cherish them too. I am like you, I like the being inside looking outside on those cold days.
Thank you for letting us see the fun in your backyard. Beautiful photos. Love, Mom
