The holly's been hauled out.

We got the tree up and decorated this last week. This little angel is one of my favorite ornaments. It's one that was always on my Grandma's tree, where I spent every Christmas until the 2nd year I was married. She's so dainty and sweet. I find a pretty spot just for her before all the kids ornaments go on. Just thought I'd share one of my silly traditions, not any real reason, just something I do. Kate was super excited about putting the ornaments on, so I let her put them on her own way (which was all in the front and center in one big lump) and then did a little arranging myself. She seemed fine with that, just so she got to do some hanging. At one point she gave the tree a hug, cause she says she really loves Christmas....
And...don't tell her teacher, Mrs. Kurka, but when I asked Kate what she thought we should get her for Christmas, she said "A carpet square. A pink one." Sounds like the perfect gift for a pre-K teacher. Anyone know how to wrap a carpet square??

While the girls were doing the decorating, the boys were playing their almost-every-night game of chess. I was taking pictures of the tree, etc. and happily caught this shot:

Beautiful capture of the guys. Yes they look so much alike it is amazing. Katie makes Christmas full of the "childhood wonder" which slips away. I love the picture of her by the tree, and your little ornament. Oh the differnces in guys and girls, huh?
Love, Mom
