better late than never

A bit late on the Halloween pictures, but wanted to share anyway. I heard there were some technical difficulties with my last post. On my screen, everything showed up, and I'm not sure what happened, but let me know if all you see are little red boxes.

Kate loved being Dorothy and Jonathan put that army outfit on, ran out the front door and started crawling through the yard like he was on a mission.

Hannah didn't decide to dress up until the last minute for youth group. Impromptu bumble-bee is what she came up with. Inspired by an outfit my mom came up with for me back in the day. (remember, Mom??)
<<--- quite possibly my favorite Dorothy picture of the year,

Katie with her red tree. She's loved watching it turn this year.

In other news, Amy came for the weekend to do a little shopping and get a couple of wedding things out of the way. We looked at invitation books for a couple of hours and think that she's found a good combo of pretty+price. Simple, elegant, personal. So, another big check mark on the wedding-to-do's. Only 7 months left ---

I have a big weekend coming up. Going on a very spontaneous, very exciting road trip with Patti to of all places, Nebraska. We are heading west for an awesome art convention-ish kind of weekend with classes, vendors, and crazy women. You can read more about it here and here.
We are suppose to dress super foofy cowgirl, country-fried on Friday night, so I'm trying to come up with an outfit. So far, I've got a hat. That's a start at least. Otherwise, I've got a ton to do before I leave this weekend. Not just for me, but for the fam to be settled while I'm gone.
It's hard to need/want to get away and have everybody want you to be home. If I'm gone to the mall for a couple of hours, I get called asking when will I be back. So, the weekend is not the easiest. But it's good for a momma's body and soul. Looking forward to taking a breath.

You deserve this weekend away!!! Remember I have always told you if you don't do something every once in a while just for yourself, you will not be a good mom, wife, etc. Everyone needs to do something just for themselves occasionally. Go, have fun, and have no guilt. Enjoy!!!!! I will be thinking of you. Aunt Linda

Love the costumes---yes I remember my little bumble bee--where did the years go??? Dorothy is adorable! Even when she is appearing as Kate! I love the picture of Kate by "her" red tree--she has a lot of her Grandma Virginia's thoughts, and that's special. Though I am late in commenting, it just shows I like to re-visit your blog. Sending all my love, Mom
