Otter Love

Sorry so long gone. Wanted to post real quick and let you know I'm still around. I had a big post ready to go and then got side tracked, now it's about 6 days old and not relevant anymore, so here I am with a "hello out there" post. It was so nice to have Jeff, Jacki and Maddy here. We had a great time at the zoo, Magic House, and just hanging out together.Posted by Picasa

I've been struggling with the blog, and how much to "put out there" on it. I want it to be a real account of me and my life without giving the whole wide world a freak out into my crazy reality. I want to be honest, and that sometimes means being negative, and that's not what I want you all to read. It's just hard, ya know?? I'm in the middle of lots of changes, a new chapter, and a time of making decisions , (which those who know me, know that's not an easy thing). I need to focus and re-evaluate, prioritize and be deliberate in what I do, why I do it, and who/what I put my energy into. I think these times come around every so often, and I think they are good. Really look hard at your life and weed it. So, that's what I'm doing right about now. I want to give the blog-reading world fun, light, daily accounts of what's happening -- but at times the heavy stuff out weighs reporting on my Target outing. That's what I'm trying to balance here, what I write and what I don't. And lately, I haven't felt like writing much of anything. But I've also missed it, so I'm back trying to find my way........

I don't want to leave you in the middle of Italy, that would be rude, so here we go onto Sorrento and the Almafi Coast.
While it wasn't my favorite room we stayed in, this hotel in Sorrento was probably my favorite view. I don't count Tuscany, cause it's in it's own category ;) Honestly, I was amazed and in awe of the view and the feeling looking out into the Mediterranean. Our room had 2 huge windows with big wooden shutters and the breeze would blow right through. This is a place I would love to hide out at, retreat from the world for a long while. I don't think you'd ever get tired of looking out over the sea.
.<--<<--I love this one. Loved this place.
<<<---<<<-- the view from our room. By the way, this house is abandoned and would make a wonderful Italian hide-a-away if anyone is interested
.<<<---the coastline leaving Naples
heading towards Sorrento. Bravo, Mario, for spectacular bus driving mere feet from the edge around tight curves. Yikes!!
<<---some of our students taking it in before we left for Rome.
<<---looking out our other window.
<<---<<--nightly midnight fireworks from next door. We aren't sure of the occasion, but wow!!
Our time in this area of Italy was spent in Pompeii and Capri. I'll share from there soon. Are you still with me??

Those are the most adorable "otters" I have ever seen! Great shot of the kiddies, and looks like lots of fun!
So glad you got us back on to Italy and I never dreamed the Mediterranean Sea was so spectacular. It is all so beautiful and I love the picture of you and Matt on the balcony. Yes, I need to check out that abandoned house, but it is a very long commute to just hideaway for a few days. Let's see was it 37 or 39 hours to get home? I love the pictures from Italy, keep them coming. It is my "virtual travel" until I get to do the real thing.
I know you are working through all these changes in your life right now, but I also know that once you have found the direction that the Lord is taking you, you will be even more fulfilled and writing a new chapter in your life. It will be good! "Changes lead to better things in many cases." Voice of experience! You are loved and in my prayers. Mom

What do you say we find out how much that little villa rents for? I'm ready for a hideaway. Maybe once we're rested up we can boat over to see George. :)

I love each one of those 4 otters! And I love them being together. Thank you for everything -- we enjoyed our time there so much! After each of our visits my heart just aches to have to leave. You all are so incredibly special to us.
Hannah - I had a blast with you. Just being with you -- laughing, hugging, talking, SINGING, etc. Loved it all.
Jonathan - I'll be ready to squish you in the van again next time. I loved your "Look at all that broccoli!" comment. So funny!
Kate - Can we play tea party again the next time? Maybe we can at our next sleep-over. You are a super sweet girl.
Matt - loved seeing the "dance" again and hearing your laugh during Napoleon Dynamite. I always laugh at your laugh. Did you say you'd like us to pick up an application for you at SBU?
Tammy - you are my "Linda" (is that the right name?) Definitely a kindred spirit -- Love you so much. I love being around people who inspire me to be a better mom and wife. You do that. And now that I'm boo-hooing again, I'll end this book-of-a-comment.
Love you all! Jacki
