Charles Marvin Carter

We lost Grandpa Charlie Saturday evening. He was very peaceful, with family praying around him. I'm thankful that we could be there to spend those last precious days. It's hard to describe the incredible influence his faith, integrity, joy had on us and all who loved him. He was a special man. Kind, generous, funny, practical. Loved to fish, bowl, read, sing and could whistle like nobody's business. Gosh, we'll miss him. We are overwhelmed by the outpouring of love and support by so many who knew him. And if you knew him, you loved him. Needless to say, we are all exhausted and still have the services ahead on Monday night/Tuesday morning. Matt will be leading the funeral service, which although it will be difficult, is also an honor and a request by Gramps. Please keep him in your prayers as he leads.
We are also down to one car and need to replace Matt's sometime in the next week or so. That is a really long story for another time, but let's just say that when it rains it pours.
I will update again soon. Should be home again mid-week.

Our sympathy goes to all of you--I love the picture of Matt with Granpa Charlie--that is how we should all remember him. He touched so many lives with his kindness and love. You are all in our prayers. His memory will remain in the hearts of all the people he touched through the years. God Bless You All. Love,

We'll be praying for Matt and all of you during the service and afterward as well. What a tough, but great opportunity Matt has to preach the funeral. Grandpa Charlie will probably be smiling as the gospel is preached. Let it reach those that still need the Lord. Love you all, Jacki (for the Edge family)
