I can't take credit for this beautiful photo. My mom took it and it may be one of my very favorites. Cardinals are special. They were my Grandma's favorite. Just wanted to share this gorgeous picture with you.
What else? Hmmm. Well, we had a bit of an ice storm. We were incredibly blessed to only be without power for about 4 hours. Now it's just super-duper cold. I really hate it, but in some ways, it feels more normal. It's just not right for it to be 60+ in January, ya know?
Went to see the Bears play on Sat. No, not the Chicago Bears, the Upward Basketball Bears. Jonathan's team. We played the Panthers, like we will every Sat. until March. Fun game. My boy did really well, scored half the points of their team and got some awesome steals. But the Bears lost by one basket. Oh, well, next Sat. will be here before you know it.

Hey, I like the new white background with green lettering--nice! Glad you enjoyed the cardinal, you should have seen me standing on a step stool using my tripod over the kitchen sink to take that shot out the window. The honeysuckle vine has become a perfect winter refuge for the birds, and our closest shot without them being disturbed.
Love the shots of Jonathan's basketball game. Hope to get to come to one of his games soon. I love basketball, and it is even more fun when it is your grandson who is playing. ( My Star!)
Love you lots! Mom
Jon Carter is definitely the basketball star of our family. He has such an important job carrying the team on his shoulders - and he will! Let's hear it for our superstar!!!!! Love all of you. Aunt Linda
