motivation

Yep, you read it right. The post time says 3:00 .am. I can't get back to sleep, so I thought I'd chat a little. Nothing like throw up on the bathroom floor to get you motivated to clean it , huh? Jonathan woke up with a tummy ache around 1:00. I thought it was just gas, laid in bed with him, rubbed his tummy, all that. Nope. He got sick not too long afterward. He seems fine now, though, so I don't think it's the flu, maybe just an upset tummy. Anyway, back to the motivation... so I have to clean up the mess, which comes with being the mom. I can remember when I would wake up sick. Never do you get dad up, you always go to mom's side of the bed. Having mom up with you makes it better, so I'm privelged to be the one to get up :) By the way, my mom's phone rings red hot quite often, so I guess things don't change.

In the midst of cleaning up in the bathroom, I think, why not just do the whole darn thing? I mean, I'm up, it's quiet, let's bleach this baby down. Only in my slurred 2 a.m. vision I didn't realize I was spraying Clorox Clean-up on my nearly new shower curtain. Bugger. A big bleach spray stain from my cleaning frenzy. Oh, it gets better...
So I get that done and am too tired to even lament the shower curtain (that will come in the morning) and haul the laundry downstairs, throw in the load which includes my bathroom rug.
Get a glass of water and lay down. What's that noise? Do you hear that? (Matt certainly doesn't) It's the washer doing that ba-bump, ba-bump thing where it walks around the room. Back to the basement to fix it and that's where I end here with you. In the morning I will regret this post, like I believe some people regret things they do at 3 a.m. but this is real life, baby. Just keepin' it real. Thanks for listening.

Yes, motherhood is a lifelong profession---one that is more rewarding than any other! I love all your phone calls, and it is great to know we are just an e-mail/phone call away. Glad Jonathan is feeling better now. I know you have a very busy day, on little sleep---but it has been productive, huh? Yes, I know these things due to one of "our" phone calls--which I love to get. Mom's advice, " Get some sleep tonight"! Looking forward to your next blog posting on your room addition progress. I know it is taking shape. Completion is just around the corner, then the housewarming party begins! Love, Mom

Yes, it is always mom that gets up with the sick children. And yes, that is a privledge to be mom of wonderful children. God has blessed us!!! Just take an hour at a time, and don't think of "everything" all at once - it can be overwhelming!! But it will all come together and you will have a wonderful "almost new" home. Yea! Love you, Aunt Linda
