Can you be
lieve it? The Cards are the World Series Champions! As you can imagine, it was craziness in our living room last night. Jon Carter and I were hugging each other on the couch, with our eyes half covered almost afraid to watch when they only had one out left to go and the Tigers had 2 men on base. Almost afraid to celebrate. Then, the final out and lots of whooping and hollering, jumping up and down, and then he went into an imaginary baseball game that lasted until almost midnight. Throwing the ball up and diving after it in the living room, a little boy dreaming of his own World Series someday. That would be awesome, but I don't think I, as his mom, could handle the stress. I can't imagine my own son, out there, playing and the pressure. We are so excited for our team, for our city. What a rich tradition. I'm thankful that we live here and are a part of it.
This morning Jon Carter said, "It's kinda sad." I said, "oh, I know, for the Tigers."
He said, " No, cause baseball is over and it is *forever* until spring training."
Really it's only until March, but the boy loves his Cardinals.

It was certainly a wonderful victory. I was thrilled to hear my grandson's voice, right after the Cards won, and to get to share his excitement. Yes, spring training will be here before we know it, but to children time does not pass so fast. Somewhere between 8 and 58 the clock speeds up and time begins to fly by!
This was a World Series that will long be remembered by us all, and I too am proud of the St. Louis Cardinals---who knows what my grandson may aspire to do, he may someday be a famous ball player! With his determination, he will succeed!
