meet Einstein

This little guy is the newest member of our extended family. My mom and Leon found him walking along the road, close to the interstate. They picked him up and stopped at house after house trying to find his home. Took him to the vet to see if he was microchipped and he isn't. They've checked all the papers and have not been able to find his owners. So, they've decided to keep him. What a lucky little dog to find such a wonderful home. God has brought them together and it is just the sweetest thing ever.

Mom named him Einstein because he looks like him and because he's so smart. We can't wait to meet him!!!

Kate and I had a great time at Target this morning, found lots of good bargains and bought Halloween candy, stuff like that. Now we are home, she's playing playdough, I'm working on Bible study. We are in the middle of Daniel and this week he's going to the lion's den. Such a familiar story, yet it is rich in truth and theology. We will talk about being "faithful" ... God's faithfulness to us and our attempt to be faithful to him. We will talk about standing firm in your faith, purposeing in your heart to be bold and take a stand regardless of what is happening around you. But the main focus of Daniel has been and will continue to be that "In spite of present circumstances...in spite of how things look to us...GOD IS IN CONTROL"... I can't tell you how good it has been for me to talk about that week after week. To have to teach that as TRUTH helps me to believe it myself. And I am finding myself trusting and resting in God's soverignty more and more.

Tonight is Skate Night for the kid's school. At the Coach Light skating rink. And boy does it take me back to the Great Skate Train back in the day. The carpet, the lights, the smell, (the music is different, definitely not 80's The Go-Go's, Bananarama stuff) . It's fun to watch them have fun with their friends. Now I'm the mom, sitting there, (o.k. I confess to sometimes skating) like an ATM handing out quarters, and dollar bills for games and sodas and cotton candy. I am so glad that I can realize (and happy that I have people who remind me) that these are the best times. The fun times. The wow-it-goes-so-fast times.

Better get to it. Bye for now,

Tam

Einstein was impressed with his notoriety and has had a big day of lots of walks and exercise outside. He said to tell you and your family he is anxious to meet all of you. Amazing the way the Lord has of getting us to get moving--sends a little dog into our lives to take for walks.
I love the "faithfulness of God"---and to keep reminding ourselves of His constancy and love of us is what keeps us centered in Him. I am proud of you and your walk with the Lord. He has made you a true teacher, both at the lady's Bible study and of your children--and you are surely a blessing to me.
Love, Mom
