Heading out to the Mike and Cindy's boat at the marina. Matt and Jonathan had gone the day before with Mike and some of his clients. They have a super captain, John, who with Mike, made me feel very comfortable with taking my babies out in the ocean. They were extra cautious and kept a very close eye on the weather since there were some storms around. The waves were pretty rough, rougher than expected so we only stayed out for a short time. Katie didn't do so well (and I had a little sea-sickness, too) She got to sit up by the captain's chair while she rested -- and slept a little.

The guys spent the time getting the rods going and all that goes along with it. We had the music blasting and had a really good time :0)
Mike spent a while teaching Hannah and then got her fitted with this really stylish belt ;) You can tell by how wet she already is that the waves were really high. By the time we got back to shore we were all soaked.
I love this one of the boy. Doesn't he look so ready? Since he had been out the day before, he was a pro. -- sidenote: I took my old camera, thankfully. Lots of water spots
This is Cindy's big one that got away. It was a doozie, but she didn't get it in. One of Mike's job's was to be sure that the fish didn't pull anyone in... especially my kids!
And her next was a beauty -- red snapper... (would you like that blackened or with lemon and butter? Yum!!)
Dad's got a hold of him. ( I think I might have been yelling, HOLD ONTO HIM! I'm not sure, but that rod was bent all the way and I could just see a big wave hitting and him going flying overboard! Yep, I'm a little dramatic with that kind of stuff)
Could be one of my favorites of the two of them ever. They had an absolute ball deep sea fishing together.
This big guy was on the post as we came back into the harbor. Miss Katie was feeling much better and wanted her picture taken with the pelican. (that is what he is, right? Mom?)
I think I may be done (finally, right?) with vacation pictures. I have a bazillion that I haven't shared, but I think I've hit the highlights.
**We are in back-to-school mode now. Starting the "get to bed earlier and get up earlier" routine this week. Not the way to get the mom of the year votes, but it is sooo necessary. They had to "get up early" the other day to get to the free 10 a.m movie. Leaving for school at 7:30 is going to be a rude, rude awakening if we don't ease into it a little.

What fun going deep sea fishing! It is a time the kids will always remember. You got some really great pictures. I love the ones of Hannah and Matt with Jonathan with their red snappers. I fully understand Katie wanting her picture with the pelican..I just love those birds. Thank you for taking time to share your trip with us. It was great. And now it would be hard to remember you even went if you didn't have the picts, huh? Onward to school and all that goes with it. You are very wise in conditioning everyone to the earlier bed and rising times. It will make all of you lives easier when the real thing arrives. I am going to look at your pretty pictures again now. Love you so much!
Tammy,
