Ladies and Gentlemen, Boys and Girls

Yes, that's me, the Ring Master of this circus of a family. At least that's what I've felt like this week. Keeping track of 5 people, all their activities that have now gone into full swing, making sure they are fed, dressed, etc. etc. etc. It's been hectic to say the least.

Add a dead car battery into the mix, and ta-da --- the icing with a cherry.

The good news is I am learning. I'm learning to lower expectations. I'm learning to take it one thing at a time. That time is $$$. That I can juggle work and 3 kids, and a husband. I'm not saying I'm not exhausted. I am. Completely. But I'm learning. And although I know that weeks come that are crazy, I'm hoping to get into some sort of a rhythm that works.

Little bits of news:

**Jon Carter got 9th in the cross-country meet this week. He was most excited that he placed and now gets a milk shake from coach --- which is kinda out-of-sync with the running/exercise mentality, but he's a 3rd grade boy, right???

**We've been doing some doggie looking. Waiting to find the right one. The rest of the family is ready, am I??? I think maybe so.

**Top Model starts this next week. The 'fiercest' show on tv. No kidding. I love it!! Amy and I have been watching it the last few seasons. Matt always made fun of us but yet had lots of comments about it, and started acting a teeny bit invested in what was going on. Hmmmm.......

**I could completely take an entire day at the spa tomorrow. Yeah, right.

**I haven't taken a single picture this week. Shameful.

**I've recently become on of 'those' parents that gets tired of trying to explain the reasoning behind all of the boundaries that we've set for our kids and just says, "because I said so." period. I have a sinking feeling that as they get older this gets worse. Almost like a toddler. The reasoning skills are gone and it's just "no", because they want to argue until they get their way. "I will not be broken down. I will not be broken down." (I have to repeat this to myself or I will cave and give in to stop the madness) ---- this refers to a situation where a child/children was allowed to watch one pg-13 movie and now sees all pg-13 movies as fair game. Too bad, so sad.

**and because I can't post any sort of running train of thought and because I don't want this blog to become whiny and negative -- here's a fun little Internet quiz stole from another blog.

Hello there, Lynn Herrin! I liked the Internet game, and your Soap Opera name--cute! How's the Ringmaster doing this weekend? Hope you are resting up a little and that your daily routine becomes easier as the days go by. So good to hear from you on the blog again---I miss it when you are away. Maybe I will get around to adding to my "travel" blog during our vacation. I don't want it to become a "job" though, you know what I mean??? Sure you do!
Congratulations to Jonathan for placing in Cross Country! Tell him Grandpa and Grandma are real proud of him. Love to all of you, Mom

I did that one. Funny how Ruth AKers leaves alot to be desired when it comes to fun names. Yours are festive though ;)
