Beautiful Day

Some random Saturday ramblings:

Did you hear the news??? John and Jessica broke up. Are we suprised? Nope. Are we happy? Yep. If you are asking 'who are John and Jessica?' just know that things are starting to make sense once again, because that relationship was causing me serious issues with life in general. (I'm actually kidding, but still thrilled he dumped her.) Is that mean???

The weather is perfect. Absolutely perfect. I say we keep it like this all summer, how about you?? Humidity is yuck and I hate knowing it's sure to be on it's thick, sticky way.

It's only one month until our trip to Italy. Now that the house stuff is ending I'm sure you'll be hearing all about my prep and freak-outs as we get ready to go. It's still a little unbelieveable that we'll be in Tuscany June 18th. I've got tons and tons to do before then. Getting the kids ready to go to Grandma and Grandpa's, deciding on comfortable, verstile, yet stylish clothes to take (do they exist?) , reading to do, etc. etc. I'm hoping to be able to blog a little while we are there at some internet cafes. I want all of you to be able to come along :)

It's less than a month until our new baby neice is due to be born. That is a definite plus in our trip getting delayed a couple of weeks. We will hopefully still be here when she comes into the world.

Yesterday's photography trip was super. We (me, Mom and Leon) went on the mystery route provided by the So. Ill. Photography Society. The idea of the contest is to take tons of pictures (I took only 300) , come up with a theme and select your 10 best to put in an album to be judged by a professional. Then they choose a winner. Guess who won last year?? My Mom!! I have absolutely no plans of winning, I am just along for the ride, but it was really fun. We traveled on tiny country roads, saw lots of farms, fields, that kind of thing. The route also took us to Kincaid Lake and Murphysboro Lake State Park. It was definitely a challenge to "look" for ideas to photograph, to try to see things as they would be in a photo. Really a lot of fun. I thought I'd share a few (don't worry, not all 300) with you. I am thinking that my theme is going to be "Lines"... featuring photos of corn rows, rows of tombstones, fences, stuff like that. Other than that, I think the majority of my pictures are of cows. Not that there is anything wrong with cows but they only have so many poses, ya know??

<<--<<--country lane 'fiercly' guarded by this sweet
dog. (this is one I love the lines in)

<<-- spillway at Kincaid Lake.

<<--<<--little bug on wheat. (now that's a professional title for ya)

<<--<<--the most gorgeous batch of thistle. I took tons of pics of these. Did you know that thistle is the flower of Scotland??
<<--<<--cow. This one in particular was very pleased to be photographed. She has pretty eyes, I think.

Have a Beautiful weekend. I'm going to be a better blogger this week, promise.

Thanks for sharing your photos! My favorite is the first one-love the archway created by the trees over the lane. Can't wait to see the rest! :)

Great shots, Tammy! What a fun day shooting pictures together. I love the wheat and will always remember the white dog guarding his lane as we shot pictures of sheep. Being a photographer is not for wimps! I know you got some super shots!
Yes, I look forward to "virtually" going along with you to Italy! What a romantic anniversary, and I know you will photograph your journey, so we can share. I hope I too can photograph our time with the grandkids while they are here. (I plan to, if not too busy.)
Thanks for going with us yesterday. I loved our day together. You are such a blessing to me. Love, Mom
