Hello, Sunshine!

It's a new week. I'm sooo glad. It really feels like a fresh start. I feel more like myself than I have in a while. The sun is shining, the air is crisp and dare I say, warm-ish? We made a grocery run and then Katie played outside a little while. She said she was chilly and came in a put on her hat. That seemed to do the trick. Sometimes I wonder (and am afraid to know) what the neighbors think about the crazy-dressed little girl that lives here. If it is weather appropriate, she wears it. And that can be anything from a halloween outfit to a ballet leotard. She just can't help but be her fashion-forward-self. And as long as we are in our own home, I don't fight it.

What else can I talk about? Hmmmmmm....I've been starting to do some reading on Italy and Greece. Trying to make myself familiar with the places we are going and things we will see. Since it's educational tour, and the kids (and most adults) going have studied these places all year, Amy and I don't want to seem, well, um...stupid. So I'm trying to study up on ancient Greek culture/history a little. It's amazing that with my own eyes I'm going to actually see the Acropolis, the David, Tuscany, Rome. We are seeing and doing a lot in 10 days. 2 days in Florence, stop in Assisi (home of St. Francis) then two days in Rome, a visit to Pompeii. From there we will cross the Aegean Sea overnight on a ferry headed to Patras, Delphi and finally spend 2 days in Athens. Whew! Places that you could spend forever in, and we get a day or two. We'll have to really soak it in fast. I'm so, so, so excited to be going.

We have a big birthday in our family this week. Kate is turning 4 on Friday. Let the countdown begin!

Our little Katie is her own special person!!! She will probably grow up to be a fashion designer - ha! Loved the picture. And I love the new banner, too. What a trip you all are going to have. Memories. . . for a lifetime. Love to all. Aunt Linda

Those neighbors had better not be talking about my Katie Rose...some people just can't truly appreciate others' visions!! I can't believe she's going to be four...how time flies. Keep me updated on what you're learning...I don't want to be the only "dumb" one in Europe!
