Birthday Whoop-de-doo

This is my favorite photo of the day. My sweet 4 year old Katie with her new twin babies in her birthday outfit. We had such a biggggggggg day yesterday. I want to tell you all about it. I'm sure you'd on the edge of your seats ;)

We started the day with amazement at how big Kate had grown in the night and now that she was 4, she sure looked bigger. Then a few presents, getting pretty new clothes on to meet Amy at the Painted Zebra, a really cool paint-your-own pottery place. Kate paints at home almost *everyday*...very crafty lil' chica she is... and she painted her own new dishes to use.
Amy and I took her to First Watch for chocolate chip pancakes (it is suspiciously one of our very favorite places to eat too) She got this adorable dress-up dress/hat from her 'Be-Be' which she wore for the rest of the day.

Here she is waiting for Grandma and Grandpa to come for her party.
My mom painted this step-stool for her to match her bedding. She's jealous of Hannah's ladder on the bunkbeds and wants to 'climb' into bed, too. I don't know about you, but I think someone is a little rotten. (by the way, isn't the stool too cute???)

We had presents, homemade pizza and cupcakes,... and blowers. The most fun of the whole day was how absolutely thrilled she was about everything. Just delighting in being 4 and it being *her* day.

Then we watched video from when Kate was born. Can I just say that I can't believe how fast time goes, and that I can't believe how 4 years changes things so much. On the video, Hannah and Jonathan were so little. Now, we have a 12 yr. old, 8 yr. old and a 4 yr. old. I want it to slow down. It's moving too fast.

Thanks for indulging me in the photos and all. Now the rest of the weekend ----

We had the Lutheran School Academic Fair today. Jonathan and Hannah did well in the spelling bee and in their singing/violin. Blue ribbons all around. Then a little de-stressing, mommy time this afternoon. Wandered around Pier One, Target, and met Patti Sue for the sale at the scrapbook store. So nice to relax and visit.

So that's the weekend recap. I'm blogging (obviously) and the kids are having popcorn and a movie before our early-to-bed bedtime. Spring forward, ya know.

Love the photo of Kate in chair with twin dolls--beautiful shot! It was a big day for our little girl, and her enthusiasim was astounding. She took nothing for granted and loved every second of "her" day!
I am proud of Hannah and Jonathan with blue ribbons, such blessings! and you are right--they must slow down, they are all growing up too fast.
Glad you got a little break time today--all that celebrating wears one out! Thank you for having us at the party. We will remember it always. Love, Mom
