My first bridal shoot

O.k. , she's not technically a bride, but the last few days, she's been pretending to be one. The beautiful veil is one of her dress-up skirts. The elegant gown is Hannah's old Minnie Mouse costume. The bride's attendants are her 2 favorite catty's. I couldn't resist a picture.

To be perfectly honest this is my 5th time trying to finish this blog post. Interruptions from little things to big have stopped and started it over and over. I am a determined blogger, though and I will prevail.

A few minutes ago, I sat down to add to the picture with a little news and what-not, computer on my lap, watching the Grammy's, waiting for JM to perform .... and BOOOOOOM! You know, the kind of crash you hear and get immediately sick to your stomach. I threw the laptop, ran into the bedroom to see Kate's dresser toppled over, drawers spilled out. She's just standing there, stunned. Tells me she just wanted to wear some jewelry from her jewelry box. Praise the Lord, she only had 2 little scratches on her chest. She could have been under that dresser. But, she was perfectly fine. It was one of those "mom" moments, where you hold it together, give them a good talking to about climbing on drawers, about asking for help...on and on and on....give lots of hugs and kisses....then go off and have a big cry. All is well. Thankful for angels protecting little ones.

o.k., let's talk about much less serious things:

  • only 5 days until our John Mayer concert ... can't. wait.

  • also can't wait until Hannah's science project is completely done and turned in

  • I'm all for the fact that tops have gotten longer but these baby-doll tunics they have out for Spring look way too much like maternity for a gal like me. Cart around 3 kids wearing one of these and I promise you'll get asked when you're due. I'm not usually in the mood to be mistaken for being pregnant. How about you?

  • I went to a great little Herb and Garden show with mom this weekend. Learned about Square Foot Gardening, cool idea. We wandered around a flea market, had lunch. Good, good day.

  • While in the shopping mecca of Mt. Vernon, IL (lol) we came across the best deal on a book shelf for the family room. Very pottery-barn looking, black library-style shelf. $45.00 , can't beat that. :)

  • I love my new kitchen floor. It makes me :)

  • Thought I'd share a couple of layout/projects I've done recently. Nothing big, but just enjoying creating again.

Awesome, awesome, awesome pages and projects! You are so creative with it all -- and an inspiration to me! Praise the Lord for Kate being okay. Yikes, huh? This mom thing is so rewarding and overwhelming all wrapped up into one sometimes. Tell everyone "hi" and love you all! Jacki

The "bridal portrait" is darling--I'm thankful our little lady is okay, after her quest for jewelry. Yes, those angels are all around us and one must have swept Katie out of the way of the dresser. I love the new quote! I also love my new picture project you gave me, it is adorable, and reminds me of our good times together. The layouts are beautiful... I hope the kids always stick together, they are all so sweet, and my baby-girl, I could not be more proud of you. When I saw your picture it brought tears to my eyes, because I love you so. Thank you for sharing on the blog. You bring more joy to others than you will ever know. Since I did the travel blog, I know it is encouraging to get comments--makes it real that others are enjoying your posts. Keep it coming.
Oh, yes, I almost forgot----"I love the 'quadro' of the 1 regazzo and 2 regazzas". How is that for using our new words???
Love you, Mom
