The week ahead is a busy one. And I'm fighting off a yucky head-throat thing. Those 2 combined stress me out. The balancing act of taking care of yourself and taking care of everyone and everything else is a tough one. I spend most of the day yesterday doing nothing and actually slept until 1:00 in the afternoon! Today, I've had spurts of energy, then poop out for a while. Then I hop up, do a couple more things and crash again. But the list of things to get done doesn't seem to be getting smaller....Oh, well.
Trying to save up some oomph to go tonight to a research study. I'm part of a study group about radio stations. Good easy $$. Plus, if you get there early, you can win an extra $50. Matt says that we are alllll over that!
Weekend recap: Jacki and I had a fun, fabulous time. (with the exception of a yuk meal at Steak/Shake, which we managed to laugh off)... I can't remember laughing so much in a really long time. I love that we can pick right up where we were. We've been friends since the days of being a newlywed, 90210, going to the laund-ro-mat, OJ trial, pop-over-pizza, big hair bows.
Lots of history there. Now, we have 4 kids between us, many moves, and many years. Yet, in a weird way, nothing has really changed.
We had an impromtu dinner with Amy and Doug on Sat. night. Played video games, watched a movie. Fun times. (I think that Kate might be smitten ;)
If anyone can give me parenting tips for pre-teen girls, please feel free to comment. Whole new experience. Trying to find "balance" between what 'we' want to do and what 'we' need to do. Learning hard lessons about time management and responsiblity. Loads of fun.

Hope your feeling a little better today! Don't push yourself too hard. Had a great time at dinner Saturday night...thanks! Also, I love today's picture...might Katie Rose have inspired that pic?

By the way, just reread by comment, and it's driving me crazy that I wrote "your" instead of "you're"...what kind of teacher am I?
Take care of yourself or you can't help others...Glad to hear you had a good time over the weekend. I love the picture of the "balancing act"--and your courage as a Mom to let those little ones spread their wings. Just know with your pre-teen, that you are still the Mom and very wise. Sometimes, they just want to be able to say that "Mom said no" and help them make the decisions. Mom doesn't stay in the dog house very long and being tough is what being a Mom is sometimes about.
This too shall pass. Lots of Love, Mom
I had a super time in Rolla too! Loved being with you and just catching up --- but also just picking up where we left off like you said. I love that about our friendship. You are such a blessing to me. A true kindred spirit! Love you lots and miss you terribly already (how can that be???). Jacki
I should be the one sick -- from the chicken ordeal! I'm sorry it's you -- feel better soon!
Great work.
