What do you ponder??

Jon Carter told me tonight that he has been "pondering" the question our Pastor posed to us in his sermon on Sunday. The question was "Who has more authority, God or Jesus?"... (He never gave an answer, just asked the question to provoke thought). I knew that Jonathan had been listening during the service, but I was so suprised that he had that on his mind days later. Thankfully, he didn't ask me for the answer, just told me he had been pondering it. Hmmmm.

I told him that I was glad he thought about things like that, that it's good to think about God and think deep. He's quite the "thinker", always has been. While Kate's definitely been the talker, he's been the contemplater. The one in the car, looking out the window quietly. I guess I'm blogging this because I want to remember that little sweaty basketball player in the backseat thinking about theology at 8 yrs. old, and what a precious gift he is. So, let yourself "think deep", not necessarily needing answers, just enjoying the process of the thinking. It's good for us, mind, body and soul.

I ponder how I could have been SO blessed to have such a wonderful family! I know God is good and faithful and loving, He has shown me repeatedly throughout my life.
I know Jonathan has it in him to be anything he decides, as he is so wise beyond his years. (Yes, I am a little prejudice Grandma!) Hope he keeps pondering and keeps on playing basketball. He is an All-Star! Love, Mom
