When Life gives you lemons....

It has been a crazy few days. Flat tire on the van, managing with one car, fuel pump out on the car, o.k. , managing with *no* car. Now the van is fixed, Matt is off to work for a 1/2 a day, I'm at home for the second day with no transportation. Canceled trip to see family. A trip I needed, but will have to go without. Now I have all this time at home that I wasn't expecting and have to re-group and use it for the best. And I'll tell you what, when you *can't* go anywhere, (insert Target here) that's when you most want to go. So tonight, I will weather the rain and chill and get myself to Target. I'm sure they noticed that Kate and I weren't there for our routine Tuesday morning shopping.

Matt and I took turns going to vote, in the van with the little donut tire on, (laugh away) All these people were lined up to use the new fancy electronic machines. No one at all in line to vote with that old paper ballot. Even elderly people stood in line to use the new machines. (no offense to any of my over 70 readers) I trotted myself up to the paper ballot booth and got it done. I'm anxious to hear the results tonight, but also so, so, so glad it will be over.

I thought I'd share a picture of my group of leaders for my bible study. These ladies, Nancy, Fern, Carolyn and Laverne have become such an important part of my life. We pray together, study God's word, laugh and cry (that would be me doing the crying) . They have such wisdom, and are supportive in an incredible way. They each one are special to me in different ways for different reasons, but I know that God has given them to me as precious friends.

This picture is from Laverne's 80th birthday celebration last January.

I am reminded that no matter what life brings, God is Good. Enjoy your day, make the best of it. Love to you all!

I'm so sorry you can't come see us. And yes, it is hard to not have a car at our disposal. We are so use to transportation being right there when we need it. To think, families use to only have one car, if they were lucky. How life changes!!! Uncle Bob and I are really looking forward to seeing all of you this Sunday. I enjoyed the picture of all your lady friends from Bible Study. Love, Aunt Linda

I too was looking forward to being together yesterday, but just believe that "all things" work together for good---and thus, we praise the Lord for our family and health and look forward to our times we do have together. Perhaps the Lord saved you from some worse accident in driving down to So. IL, and to see you in the picture with all the beautiful ladies in your Bible study group, makes me feel warm all over. You are such a treasure, my daughter, and only a phone call away---I must go and check in with you today. Love Always, Mom

HI! I've been reading most of your blog site (is that what you call it?) and missing you even more now. I hope everyone is well there. We wondered how many nights Jonathan stayed up to watch the Cardinals! How exciting! Tell everyone "hi" and "miss you!" from all of us. I loved the comment from your mom "you're such a treasure, my daughter" -- how sweet is that! Love you, Jacki (and the family)
