a little at a time

We had the best time this weekend visiting our family. So much fun that I think I'll just post a little at a time about our trip. Also, that will give me something to talk about when my day-to-day gets oh-so-boring. So let me start with the big news of the weekend: This is Amanda and Emily, our nieces. In case you can't read their shirts, they say that they are going to be big sisters! Rob and Laura (Matt's sister) are expecting this summer. What a blessing! I can't wait to have a baby around again. The girls were so cute. They just found out when Laura gave them the shirts to put on. You could tell as the day went on that it was sinking in a little and they just smiled and smiled.

The kids and I went to my mom and Leon's on Friday. It was the absolutely most perfect fall day. Cool wind, warm sun, piles of leaves, roasting hot dogs and marshmallows. It really is the little things that make some of the best memories. Give kids a big pile of leaves and let them at it. Here's a couple of my favorite pics:

Aren't children delightful! They remind us of the fun that is in life just for the taking. Congratulations to Rob and Laura and family---I know the big sisters will big helpers too!
Jonathan was telling me that he doesn't have any leaves at home, so Grandma's is a treasure chest of fun in our woodland. Watching the 3 of them play and no batteries required! Wow! Maybe we could market our leaves as instant joy for kids, and ship to those who have none. It was wonderful to spend the day together.

Our children are one of the greatest sources of happiness in our lives!!!! And our family is truly blessed to have such wonderful young people and little children. Our best times are the times we all spend together. God has surely blessed all of us!!!! Aunt Linda
